The X Factor

The X Factor is our

Focal Point

Our Focal Point can be a goal, a measure or an activity.

It may be all three

When we are clear on what our Focal Point is we have

Clarity

We then have focus and concentration

There are 4 orientations that give clarity to determining the Focal Point

Excellence Orientation

We need 5-7 key skill areas to be successful. Need to ask self “What is my weakest
key skill?” “What is the skill that is holding me back?” Then the big question:-
“What one skill if I developed and did it in an excellent fashion would help me
the most to be where I want to be?”

The answer is usually obvious and if we don’t know, we cannot move forward, so we
need to dig down to find out. It is usually a skill we don’t like. It is worth
remembering that everybody who now has any particular skill didn’t at one time. All
skills are learnable. We may be held back due to the lack of just one skill.
Make it a goal. Write it down, ask how and make a plan. Developing one skill then
becomes our X Factor. Other skills will also develop as we grow in confidence.
Once we master it then we know we can master anything. We just need to have
courage, face our fear. Doing the things we fear means the fear evaporates.
Focus on how to become excellent. Make the decision to be the best. We can tell if we
are in the right field for us by wanting to be better in that field. It makes us happy.
We want to learn more and we want to be excellent at what we do.

Everyone has the potential to be excellent at one thing. Instinct will usually tell you
what it is.
