On Fire!

Last night I did a fire-walk! Not just once but three times!! I actually walked across burning coals three times!! It was the most brilliant, exhilarating, empowering, liberating, terrifying experience and I loved it!

There were around 20 of us that did it, under the supervision of our Master Coach in fire-walking, Lisa Clifford. We all had our own reasons for doing it and the intentions that were set were as varied and different as the people there.

From the moment we arrived, Lisa prepared us for the great adventure. We were taken to see the fire, which at that time was huge and we each set our intentions. We then went back inside and went through various exercises to raise our energy and get us aligned with our purpose.

One of the exercises we did involved having an arrow at our throats, stepping forward and breaking the arrow. The feelings and emotions when my arrow snapped like a twig, with the pieces flying across the room were overwhelming! What a rush! When I “stepped forward with intent” towards my goal which was “I am courageous” it was as though the arrow wasn’t even there, I KNEW it would break. Nothing would stand between me and my goal!

The great thing was, although very few of us knew each other, we all encouraged and supported each other to break our arrows. We all wanted each other to achieve. Absolutely brilliant!

It was then time to head back out to the fire. By this time it had been reduced to white hot coals! We took our shoes and socks off, stood on towels (well, there was a lot of ice, snow and mud around!) and began to sing and clap as a path of white hot coals was made ready for us.

Lisa had earlier advised us only to do it when we felt fully aligned, when we were ready, when we knew we could. The moment came as I stood there, when I knew without a shadow of a doubt, I could walk across those coals and I did. Not a burn, blister, I did not feel the heat. I just felt an incredible sense of achievement and purpose. We all did it and not one of us sustained burns, not even a minor blister.  So we did it again and again!

Once home with feet washed (They were filthy!), I sat and reflected on what had happened. All I could think was “Well, if I can break an arrow with my throat and walk across burning coals, I can do anything!” Extreme freedom from thoughts of limitation, doubt and fear! An absolutely liberating experience!

I would highly highly recommend the experience to anybody, however please please do not attempt this at home!! Lisa has years of skills and training in the art of this, so if it is something that stirs up your curiosity, check out Lisa’s website at www.lisa.clifford.co.uk for info and contact details.
