Joshua’s Legacy The Power of a Pound

For some time I have had a goal to raise £1m pounds for charity, by my 60th birthday June 02nd 1913. I did not have a particular charity in mind, now with the experience of losing Joshua, I have. I also feel it will keep Joshua’s memory alive and that he is adding value to the world. A legacy for this generation and the next.

My e book “Messages”, which is a “self-acceptance” book, rather than a “self-help” book is now available for downloading on my website under “E Books” at a cost of £7.95.

In memory of Joshua, £1 of every copy sold will be donated to the  charity APEC (Action On Pre-Eclampsia), a charity set up in 1991 for research into pre-eclampsia and offering support for those who have been devastated by its effects.

This means Joshua has given his life, rather than it has been taken. He has given his life, so that other babies have a chance at receiving life.

Every six minutes, a woman dies as a result of pre-eclampsia. It continues to be the most common of the serious complaints of pregnancy. It is estimated that 4,000,000 women contract pre-eclampsia every year. It is the leading known cause of pre-term birth. It represents 30% of premature births.

It can cause blood pressure to rise, puts mothers at risk of stroke, impaired kidney function, seizures and in severe forms maternal and infant death.

The only cure is delivery of the baby. Once pre-eclampsia begins, the health of the mother must be weighed against the health of the baby. In some cases, the baby must be delivered immediately, regardless of how advanced the pregnancy is.

I would ask that if you download any of the articles and information available on this blogsite, please donate a £1, which I will pass onto APEC, so more money is available for research and support, in Joshua’s name.

If you prefer to donate directly to APEC, their website is www.apec.org.uk. All I would ask is that you let me know, so I am able to record how much Joshua’s legacy is raising on an ongoing basis.

Please support me in achieving this goal. Please let the name of Joshua Andrew Wilks live on in a positive, meaningful way.
